Mr. Bremer
Hello!
My name is Mr. Bremer. I am in my third year at Hill Country Middle School teaching 6th grade ELA! I am super excited to continue my work here in the Eanes District. Above all, I am so happy you are here.
I grew up in a very small town in a rural area of Michigan. I headed to University of Texas at Tyler where I studied English, wrote for the schools newspaper, participated in school government as a class senator and representative, and ran varsity cross country track and field. After two fantastic years there, I felt that I needed a new challenge and transferred to the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. At Michigan, I competed for the university's triathlon team, was voted team president for my senior year, was an assistant coach for a boys high school cross country and track program, and competed for Team USA at the 2014 amateur world championships.
After graduating from Michigan (Go Blue), I moved to Austin, Texas to attend the University of Texas as a Texas Exes Scholarship Foundation recipient. While I was finishing my final semester of graduate work, I began working at HCMS! In addition to teaching, I still actively compete in triathlons and other endurance events, while coaching both youth and adults in triathlon and related sports!
After finishing my undergraduate degree in Secondary English Education, I moved to Austin to attend the University of Texas for my Masters of Education as a Texas Exes Scholarship Foundation Recipient. I focused my studies around the relationship between community and education, specifically examining how sport plays a role in community and educational improvement. On the side, I was also coaching the Texas Triathlon Club and a junior triathlon program. While working on my masters, I was also subbing in the Eanes district, which is how I found out about the position.
I bring to the classroom not only subject content knowledge, but also passion for working with students and helping them grow and mature into productive and caring community members. My motto is that true richness in life lies in helping others achieve. I've dedicated my entire life towards that perspective. For a deeper look into how I view education, I provided my teaching philosophy here.

Outside of education, I love being outside and traveling! Below are some photos to places I've visited!
